Getting rid of Hybrid Connect from Hub Home page

Go to solution

I was fed up with paying £75 a month for my BB on Halo 3+ so I have just downgraded it to Fibre 2 at £31.99.

Same speed as before & I still have Norton Security.

Obviousy I had to send back the Hybrid connect modem and Wifi Disc both of which are not really needed as Hybrid Connect has come on for less than a couple of hours in the last 3 years and my devices connect straight to the hub fine and in fact many are hard wired via ethernet anyway.

On the upside it shows how reliable the Broadband is.

I have removed Hybrid Connect and the wifi disc from the My devices list using the advanced menu but I still have Hybrid Connect Shwoing as modem disconnected on the hub home page in bright orange.

How can I get rid of this?

Try a factory reset of the hub. Press the recessed button for about 20 seconds until the lights flash.

Cheers.

I considered that but was reluctant to do so in case it wiped out any updates that have been done on the hub.

Any BT updates to the hub overwrites the software that it is updating and it becomes the "new factory reset" software.

OK thanks.

So If I do the factory reset then restore the hub settings from a backup will that also reinstate any port forwarding settings?

Yes, it should do, but it may or may not also restore the settings you are trying to get rid of.

Any port forwarding settings should only take a couple of minutes to recreate anyway.
