Heavy Hacking Attempts

Hello all,

Getting really heavy pounding on connections attempts, bascically brute force, 10,000+ in 3 hours, must be a bot/programme. Anything that can be changed, ie router identity for example?

BT Hub 6A

Thanks.

Re: Heavy Hacking Attempts

You can try getting a different IP address, disconnect your hub from line for 10-15 minutes.

Re: Heavy Hacking Attempts

Thanks for the tip, I pulled the BT line from the router overnight, but just started up again when I reconnected this morning.

Re: Heavy Hacking Attempts

Unless you need it, turn off UPnP to be on the safe side.

Re: Heavy Hacking Attempts

Thanks, assume UPnP needed for Playstation, Smart TV (Netflix etc)?
