I can't see any more info on the latest screenshots I've posted?
sorry ive edited my reply, I was typing it as you posted in reply to @licquorice
Ah ok thank you. I am not home at the moment but it looks like this...
Nice, well on the right you have a traditional phone socket and on the left you have the internet hook up where you will connect your new ISP provider router to. So you can go ahead and make and order with your chosen provider and if you know where this socket is you can install yourself.
Other phone lines around the house probably link back to this one, but this is where you need to connect your internet router.
Thank you so much! So although it might not be super fast broadband it will work 😅?
Does it matter what product I buy?
It comes up with this when I enter my address...
You are on Openreach infrastructure so the products available to you will be the same across a multitude or ISP's, is BT just showing one product?
It appears so...
Definitely no Cable provider in the area like Virgin or another Fibre provider?
‘Fibre’ , in the form of FTTC ( fibre to the cabinet , VDSL ) is available but the distance the address is from that cabinet dictates that its not a good speed predicted ( a speed of 12-13Mb ) , FTTP ( fibre to the premises ) doesn’t seem to be available at that address .
If the speed is acceptable ( or possibly the only option anyway ) and connection is done remotely ( you won’t necessarily see an engineer ) you plug the router they send , into the master socket and hopefully that’s it , job done , you are up and running , if it doesn’t work you would report it as faulty ….AFAIK, after the connection they send you a text stating it should be working , but if it’s not you respond to the text and that arranges a visit .
Discussing what other providers may or may not have available in your area isn’t really allowed on this BT forum .
Definitely not virgin or sky but these came up...
