Hub put in wrong place by Open reach technician

I moved home recently. All the phone and Broadband services were in the lounge. Openreach Tech insisted in siting my BT hub by the tv in the cabinet by the from lounge window. He said most people were having their hubs there !!

As a result the  phone extension in my bedroom will not work it is badly breaking up. I have been sent a plug in adapter by BT but this has not done anything to improve the extension phone. Is this now a common problem with BT digital ? Should Openreach re-site my hub for me.

No ,unless you want to pay for it to be reinstalled somewhere else.

There are various ways an extension phone can be connected , if you have been given a free DV adapter and it’s still no good , you will need to investigate hard wiring the extension to the SH2 , this is your responsibility, not BT or Openreach

Do you really mean "extension" or a DECT handset?

What service have you had installed?

Sorry but SH2 means nothing to me. Surely, they should have positioned the hub where it would have sent the phone signal to all extensions. All this tell me is that BT Digital is utter C--P.

Can you not just move the BT HUB using a longer rj11or rj45 cable depending if using  master socket OR the new openreach modem (ONT)
