Internet dropping/replacement modem

Hi all. I have a Smarthub 2 and full fibre 300.

it’s been working great for a long time but not it cuts out at 3am every night and the light goes a solid orange. I have to reboot everything. BT have replaced the Smarthub 2 and the fiber connection on the wall but the same thing is happening. Phone line is clear

so I wondered if replacing the smart hub 2 with a third party modem would work. Does anyone know of a modem that works with the above?  (As I can’t fix the hub going orange). Thanks in advance.

Re: Internet dropping/replacement modem

You don't need a modem the ONT is the modem, you need a router. Pretty much any router will suffice as long as it has a WAN port and supports PPPoE as virtually all do. You do not need a combined modem/ router, just a straightforward router.
