Laptop WiFi options - which should I go for?

Hi All,

I need to buy a new laptop.  The model that I'm looking at offers three WiFi options.

1.  WiFi 6 AX

2.  11AC (2x2)

3.  WiFi 6E 2x2 AX

I have two routers:  a BTHomeHub2-9HSQ  and a BTHub6-CGFG

So my question is:  Which WIFI option should I go for, and will it be compatible with those two routers?

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Laptop WiFi options - which should I go for?

BT Hubs don't support WiFi6, so pointless paying a premium for it on the new laptop. You would need to add a WiFi6 WAP to see any benefit.

But even then, unless you routinely move huge files around your network or make huge downloads (& have a fast fibre connection), you'll see little real-world benefit.

Thanks. In this case, there is no price difference, so which option would you suggest?

Then go for the latest standard which is 6e. They should all be backwards compatible but maybe check the manufacturer's forums for any reports of issues first.
