Ok this has happened on my daughters Microsoft Surface.
It wont connect to the home wifi network, but Ive taken it into work and it connects there and the open BTWIfi network I can log into at home on it as well!
Ive used used the reset network option and it didnt work.
Im on a smart hub 2
Now the thing is, This happened after I thought I had blocked her laptop from the network.
But according to the router and mybt there are no blocked devices
but the network map shows a device with the same name connected to port 3 of the router (which is actually the powerline adapter)
The network map shows a second wired connection for the same device but again being a surface it doesnt have n ethernet port.
I havent unplugged the router yet to see if this clears the issue.
But it seems to me that its some sort of block on the surface
I have a bt tech coming on Friday as Im not getting guaranteed speed plus congestion on the line at 3am causing the network to drop out.
All other devices have no issues connecting to the network
Is this something I could get the tech to have a look at when he is here.
Other than that any suggestions.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Reset the Hub with a paper clip.
Ignore the network map, its about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.
Turn off the Powerline adaptor then try and connect it.
