Link rate - BT wifi app

Smart hub 2 seems to be giving good WiFi speeds to some devices, and bad speeds to others.

All devices have an 'excellent' WiFi connection

The 'link rate' in the BT wifi app seems to show one of 2 speeds for each device, either 433mbps, or 6mbps.

Power cycling devices seems to reset the link rate, and give the device good speeds, but this is quite annoying.

This is most noticeable with streaming devices/gaming. When getting 6mbps, devices buffer/lag. When power cycled, devices get 433mbps, and connection is smooth.

Does anybody know what causes this issue, and how to fix?

Thanks!

Re: Link rate - BT wifi app

The BT Wi-Fi app is for use when connecting to a hotspot not when you are connecting to your own SSID.

Use the MyBT app (more/your Wi-fi network/Smart Hub 2/Connected devices/[Device Name] to check the link speed between your hub and local devices.

If that's what you meant and the signal is described as good or better when you're getting those speeds then you could try changing Wi-Fi channels and/or the Wireless mode from 1 to 2 in advanced wireless settings in the hub manager (192.168.1.254 from a browser)

Re: Link rate - BT wifi app

Measuring the link speed is not done with any app, it is part of the network settings of your device.
