Master socket or not..?

I have just moved into a flat and am unsure as to whether there is an actual master socket there or not..?  I am wanting to have BT fibre broadband only installed at the property and going by the literature on the website, when the hub gets delivered it would need to be plugged into a master socket to be activated..?   so I would really need to know whether I have a master socket there or not. There is a black cable coming into the property and a small white box connected to it, the box does have an 'old' BT logo on it (i think) but there is not a 'telephone plug type socket hole' on the box...  its just a small white box where the black cable coming from outside goes into it, and there is a hole in the other side of the box where there was a white wire coming out of it and around the room which then connected into what I think was a BT two socket type box on the other side of the room... I cant remember or be sure of this as I ripped it out a few weeks ago when I was gutting the place and didn't pay much attention to it.  Does this sound familiar to anybody..? and do I need a master socket for fibre, and/or how do I get one installed if I dont have one and need one..?    Many many Thanks.

So, you appear to have ripped out the master socket for reason best known to yourself.

Its not clear if you are getting 'Fibre' (which is FTTC therefore copper to the house) or 'Full fibre' which has no copper component and therefore no master socket required.

If it says “FTTP not available” at the bottom then the only thing you can get is FTTC, (that's “Fibre” not “Full Fiber”).  FTTC does require the master socket.  You will need to report it as damaged to the ISP when you place the order.

(I probably shouldn’t say this on here but, if I were you, I would make out that it was like that when you moved in.  The master socket is Openreach property.  If they know you’ve ripped it out, they will bill you for the replacement).
