New broadband - but cannot get a signal in most of the house

We got a new fibre broadband from BT today, but unlike the previous one with NOW, there isn’t a broadband signal in most of the house.

To have faster broadband it meant we needed to upgrade the phone line into the house.

The engineer installed the hub2 at the front of the house (previously we had it installed in the centre of the house) because the Ethernet cable wouldn’t reach to a different location.

Unfortunately this now means i can no longer work from home as I cannot get a signal, so have to go back to a 3hr daily commute until this can be fixed.

Any suggestions on what to do to get this fixed would be very welcome

Just run an Ethernet cable from the ONT (optical modem) to where you want the Hub sited. They can be up to 100metres apart.

I’ll give that a go. I had assumed that wouldn’t have been possible as would have thought the engineer would have suggested it when he became aware that I couldn’t connect to the router from where I worked
