Hi, I've been with BT on fibre 1 for a few months, had rubber banding stuttering in online gaming and just bought a ring doorbell and getting lag in live view and sometimes the recordings, also what's app video calls lag and stutter due to most likely packet loss. I've had engineers out and a new hub 2 and still not fixed, customer support say BT don't support wifi or ping or jitter, so what do you support on your service. I use an app called analiti and it shows random ping spikes and jitter up and down. Reading these forums it seems a lot are having the same issues and have been from years ago. I've tried opening ports etc to no avail, could it be where the install engineer has joined the line outside as the old line was cut. I'm sick of it now and getting no where, they've just tried to upgrade me to fibre 2 which i told them wasn't available here but sales guy was adamant it was so he put the order through, i got the confirmation and it was fibre 1 with an increased price, so had to sort that mess out. But I'm in the 14 day cooling off period and might call tomorrow to disconnect.
Make sure you disable Smart Setup, on the home hub.

Its always best to use a direct Ethernet connection to any gaming device. Wi-Fi introduces too many delays.
Issues with Ring doorbells are very common, and affect lots of people, as they need a good strong wireless signal.
A Wi-Fi hotspot device like these should solve the problem of its located near the doorbell.

Which I think is cheaper.
Smart setup is usually the cause of most problems, so disable it, as mentioned in my last post.
Which BT Home Hub do you have?
I think the Smart Hub 2 has that setting in the advanced settings page.

Hi
Was having similar problems myself while gaming. Called BT and they said no issues there side. Ran Pingplot and it showed latency spiking every 90 seconds or so. I think what caused it with me was Google drive trying to back up photos (and having problems). Disabled that service and pingplot was flat again. Any other apps or services running on your setup?
