Like others on here, I wish to use Port 22 for SFTP access to my web server. This doesn't work via my BT home hub, but works fine via my iPhone as a hotspot.
I've spent nearly an hour with the BT "tech support" chat which has been a waste of time. I'm not sure they even understand the problem.
Can anyone suggest how I get the right people in BT help?

Putting my laptop into the DMZ doesn't work.
Opening port 22 as a rule doesn't work.
Opening an IPV6 pinhole doesn't work.
Here's the result of a port check
And here is the useless forwarding rule
stupid question sorry but are you sure there isn't a software firewall in place on the destination device blocking the traffic?
It would appear from your first post that you are attempting to make an outbound connection rather than an inbound connection to a server on your network. That being the case, port forwarding and putting devices in the DMZ is pointless and won't have any effect as that is just for inbound connections.
Ask yourself why would BT block port22, what would be the point even if they were able to do it.
I suspect the problem lies with distant server possibly rejecting the connection due to IP address.
Try disconnecting your hub from line for half an hour to obtain a different IP address.
Port 22 works just fine for me.
There are a list of servers you can test to here to verify if it is just your server rejecting the connection.
Port 22 works fine for me also.
