Port Forwarding Rules

I am trying to set up Port Forwarding rules in the hub manager 192.168.1.254. I enter all the details and click SAVE but the rule is not saving! I have tried this both on my pc and on internet on my iphone.

Even though rule says it's saved when I go back to Port Forwarding Rules tab it is blank!

I received a new Smarthub 2 last month and it was set up succesfully.  I have also restarted hub

Does anyone know why is this?

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

The SH2 tends to do that when there is an error in the information entered.

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

What do you mean error in information entered?

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

The SH2 will validate the settings before it saves them.  If they are invalid it will abort the save.

Post what you are trying to set and someone will identify the error for you.

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

So back to my original question, why are my Port Forwarding Rules not saving?

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

OK, if you are trying to forward to something in your network the IP address must be in the same network…i.e. it must start with 192.168.1

Any port number below 1024 is reserved and, (I’ve never tried it but), I would be surprised if the hub would let you set a reserved port.

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

Hello Stuart

The IP address for the PC I am trying to set rules for does start with 192.168.1 and then three numbers after.

I am trying to set up the below Port Forwarding Rules for Fortnite. These were supplied by Epic Games last year.

But when I enter the details and click SAVE it says "saved" but then then the firewall page in hub manager is blank!

I have always been able to set up these rules but since receiving a new smart hub 2, I am unable to do this!

TCP/UDP

5060

5062

6250

12000 – 65000

5222

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

Yes, you can forward those ports.  What I meant was, you can't change what they are assigned to.  For example, it may be that 80 is needed for the HTTP interface on the hub itself and so cannot be reassigned.

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

I have tried all the mentioned Port Forwarding Rules but none of them will save!

Re: Port Forwarding Rules

You should be able to assign those ports as they are associated with a different IP address.

Is the device turned on and connected while you are trying to save those rules?
