Re: Range extender

Re-purpose an old router as a Wireless Access Point if you have one or connect one of the discs by ethernet

Re: Range extender

Depends what your requirements are in terms of wifi speed and band capability. Have a look at the TP Link Wireless Access Point range

Re: Range extender

i have tried using one of the discs even though it is connected via an Ethernet cable it appears to be only using wifi as the signal is quite poor(and if i take the Ethernet off it still functions at the same level with only an orange light no t enough for light streaming ??
how would a repurpose an old router

Re: Range extender

Just give it a static IP address outside of the DHCP range of the hub, turn off DHCP, and connect it LAN port to LAN port via Ethernet to the hub.
