Replace Smart Hub 2 - FTTX?

Hi,

Looking to replace my Smart Hub 2.0 Router for one that has website blacklisting options built in with its parental controls.

Just tried swapping it out for a spare TPLink VR400 I have kicking around, and couldnt get a connection using the bthomebroadband with BT password ppoe details, so presume the router isn't compatible (and doesnt contain website blacklisting anyway).

What kind of router or combo would I need to get to replace the smart hub 2, it says I have a FTTX connection, and currently my Smart Hub 2 connects to a modem on the wall via ethernet, and the modem appears to be connected via what I assume is a fibre connection.

I thought given this was a modem, I would be able to use any spare router i had but clearly its not quite as straight forward as that.

Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks

Re: Replace Smart Hub 2 - FTTX?

Did you configure the VR400 in wireless router mode to enable the WAN port rather than xDSL mode?

The connection details are bthomehub@btbroadband.com not the string you posted
