While in the first few months of using full fibre 900 I was very happy with both upload and download speeds
download being more than agreeable 900Mbps and upload sitting happily at 100Mbps more or less I have noticed a severe degradation in the service provided.
Due to using creative collaboration software for my work and streaming my device upload is very important I was shocked to find that testing my speed to the hub it was 20 to 21Mbps.
And the next morning too, and every time I tested the speed to the hub. (not speed to the device)
Despite my stay fast guarantee being 10Mbps upload and technically being 10Mbps above it gives all technicians I've spoken to over the phone an excuse to tell me nothing is wrong I feel cheated.
Could anyone help me with this? I don't want the hassle of switching to a provider with a higher minimum upload.
Edit: Not just a few minutes after this post I reset my router not through the hub or by physically turning it off but through the fault checker on the BT website which instantly resolved the issue and returned speeds to 112mbps upload.
The problem you encountered is almost certainly related to WiFi and suggests that your device has been connecting to the router on the 2.4GHz band rather than the much faster 5GHz band. Often toggling the WiFi on/off on your device can be enough to fix the issue, or even changing the settings on your device so it only connects on the 5GHz band (though problematic as there are situations where the router may not broadcast on 5GHz for short periods after a reboot).
