Sorry to jump on someone else's thread, but can I ask if the other ethernet ports on the access point BT hub also work, like a normal network switch would?

Yes

Is it possible to clone the SSID to match the parent network for relatively seamless roaming?

You can clone the SSID, but it is a popular misconception that having the same SSID will give seamless roaming, it won't. You need a proper mesh system to do that. The disadvantage is that you won't know which source your device is connecting to nor would you be able to force a switch to a stronger signal.

Re: Setting up a Smart Hub 2 as an Access Point

Hello,

I am trying to sequence two Smarthubs across two buildings, via an ethernet, and would love to read this but I don't have enough privileges as I am new to the community.

Is there any way I can access it?

Many thanks

Oh for goodness sake, it's not rocket science, just read message 3 of this thread.

Roll on true plug-and-play networking!

If you use the correct tools for the job it already is!

I appreciate you're probably bored of this question but I just did what you instructed but it's not working. Just getting an orange glow on the second router.

Primary router - Smart Hub 2, DHCP on and IP address range is 192.168.1.64-192.168.1.253

Secondary router - Smart Hub 2, DHCP off and IP address is 192.168.1.63.

Connected via ethernet from primary's ethernet to secondary's WAN. Does that all sound ok?

We also have Full Fibre Broadband, so the WAN is occupied on the primary with an ethernet to the ONT box. Will this setup only work if I connect the ONT to the primary router via the broadband portal?

You need to use the broadband port on the primary router to connect to the port on the ONT.  On the secondary router, you will be connecting LAN port to LAN port.

I actually got it to work, however, the intention of using the phone socket on the secondary router (as well as an access point) doesn't appear to have worked. Anyone know a way around this?

You clearly didn't read the instructions to connect LAN to LAN.

There is no way to use the secondary hub for DV.
