I have a Smart Hub2 with full fibre. There is one device (a printer) that gets itself into a muddle trying to connect both to 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I am tempted to solve this by simply switching off the 5ghz band. would I be likely to notice any practical difference as far as speed to my devices is concerned?

Very basically the 5Ghz is faster than the 2.4Ghz although depending on what you are doing you will most likely not notice any difference.

As regards your printer, try turning off the 5Ghz until your printer has connected to the 2.4Ghz and then turn 5Ghz back on. Your printer should then find the 2.4Ghz without problem thereafter.
