Hi - we've received a new smart hub as the street is going digital. All the devices in the house have connected to the new hub wirelessly no problem except for our SolarEdge inverter. The inverter needs a 2.4GHz channel connection. The hub details on the IP page suggest that both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz channels are on. There's a good WiFi signal outside beside the inverter. Is it likely the 2.4 GHz channel is very weak? We've plugged the old hub back in and the inverter reconnects to that no problem. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: SolarEdge inverter won't connect to new smart hub
Some devices have a problem with the two wireless channels having the same SSiD (Name). Go into the hubs wireless settings http://bthomehub.home/ and turn the 5GHz off. Connect to the 2.4GHz and once connected turn the 5GHz back on.

Re: SolarEdge inverter won't connect to new smart hub
thanks so much for the quick reply - I'll try that. In the meantime, I read elsewhere on the forum that if we aren't bothered about having a working landline we could just continue to use the old hub after the digital switchover. Is that the case do you know?

Re: SolarEdge inverter won't connect to new smart hub
Yes you can keep using the Smarthub if you do not have a landline phone rather than the Smarthub 2 which must be used with Digital Voice phone service.

Re: SolarEdge inverter won't connect to new smart hub
You could try changing the new SH2 SSID to the same as the previous hub and also change the WiFi password to same as old hub and see if devices will connect as if there had been no changes

Thanks for the replies everyone. I contacted SolarEdge on What'sApp and they talked me through some things to try (which are usually apparently only made available to installers) and it's now working!

Re: SolarEdge inverter won't connect to new smart hub
Interesting, when I had my Solar Edge inverter installed the guys wouldn't connect it to WiFi as they said it caused nothing but problems. Connected it via Ethernet to a powerline adapter instead.
