Soundbar to Smart Hub 2 connection

Hi having trouble keeping new Sony Soundbar Theatre Bar 9 connected to wifi.  Appears to be regarding 2.4/5mhz signals.  Can these be seperated to allow equipment to be used.  Note tried switching 5mhz off, but then prevented tv mini box from working.  Getting frustrated as no simple link to hub advance settings, but think there must be a simpler way or alternative router?

Re: Soundbar to Smart Hub 2 connection

you cannot split the 2.4/5ghz wifi using the BT SH2.  normally with this problem you turn off the 5ghz wifi connect your 2.4ghz device and once connected turn the 5ghz back on and you 2.ghz device should remain connected. is your soundbar capable of either 2.4 or 5ghz wifi as it the device which select wifi not the hub.

provided you do not have digital voice then you can purchase your own 3rd party router which will allow you to connect devices independently to 2.4 or 5ghz wifi

Re: Soundbar to Smart Hub 2 connection

Alternatively, you can purchase a separate wireless access point.  Plug it into the SH2.  Turn off one band on the SH2 and set that band up on the third-party wireless point.

An old router can be re-tasked to achieve the same.  Just turn off everything except the wireless function and then connect it to the SH2 LAN to LAN.

With the use of a different SSID and channel to avoid interference, it should even be possible to use 2.4GHz on both.
