I recently upgraded to the 1 GB internet with BT, but their router is a WIFI 5 router, so it does not support gigabit WIFI transfer speeds. But, if you want to use Digital Voice, you are kind of stuck with the BT router. So, I got a WIFI 6E router (TP-Link Archer AXE5400). It actually allows you to be configured as a WIFI access point as well. So I disabled WIFI on the BT SH and use the Archer as an access point. This seems to work ok. I get reasonable speeds, close to 900 Mbps in the room next to the router. I'd be interested to hear from people if they think this may have any disadvantages... I.e., would using Archer as a router (rather than access point) and using double natting be better in any way?
