Switching from BT Router to TP-LINK Issue,

Hi,

So I want to switch from BT to TP Link and after setting everything up, changing connection type to PPPoE with login  bthomehub@btbroadband.com and BT password but I'm getting an error message saying that the ethereal cable is not connected, can any advise how to resolve the issue?

What service do you have, what model router do you have & where are you seeing the message?

@zoom91

You need to edit out that link, as its not permitted on this forum.

That router only works with full fibre, or a separate modem.

Re: Switching from BT Router to TP-LINK Issue,

You need to answer the question about what sort of Internet connection you have. Also, why are you not using the BT home hub that has been provided?

Re: Switching from BT Router to TP-LINK Issue,

you need to be more specific - is your connection fibre to cabinet and copper to your home FTTC or fibre direct to your house FTTP and connects to ONT like this

Re: Switching from BT Router to TP-LINK Issue,

Do you mean fibre 1, which is a copper connection to the home hub?

What speed do you normally get if you are connected to the home hub, using an Ethernet cable?
