Hello.
We had BT full fibre with 900 halo 3 router installed on 24 January 2023 and happy with it.
Prior to the full fibre installation we had a BT home hub 5 router and used TP-Link model No. TL-WPA4220/TL-WPA281 to enhance the Wi-Fi signal downstairs. An adapter was plugged into a wall socket near the original router in the upstairs study and an extender plugged into a wall socket downstairs and gave an excellent signal.
Since the full fibre installation and using the same TP-Link system, the downstairs extender does not work as before.
At the moment the upstairs signal at -36dBm which is excellent but downstairs its -86dBm which is not very good.
I have contacted TP-Link but not having much success, any suggestions of looking at other means of improving the downstairs Wi-Fi signal. Sorry for the long post, but would appreciated some advice.
Thank you. JED1
Make sure the hub and extender are using different WiFi channels
