Thermostatic Plugs for wall heaters

Go to solution

I am using WiFi thermostats around the house to control wall panel heaters. however, they run on 2.4g & my new BT Smart HUB only offers 5g when attempting to add the new devices (worked fine on Sky). Is there a way to configure the router so that both 2.4g & 5g show up on the SmartLife App?

The Smart Hub transmits both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi. They both have the same SSID (network name).

The problem is usually because a device on 2.4Ghz is trying to connect in ad hoc mode to a device connected to the router on 5Ghz.

Simply turn off the 5Ghz WiFi on the hub to force your device to connect to 2.4Ggz. Once you have set up the thermostat, turn the 5Ghz back on again.
