Time Zones

Go to solution
Home set up - full GB to home (B4RN) Zyxel router, BT Wholesome 3 disc wifi. Zyxel wifi off to avoid conflicts

Work provided PC (hp elite book)
If connected to modem via LAN - UK time
If connected to home wifi,  jumps to Madrid time. Once it registers Madrid time, it stays there, even if wifi disconnected.
All other home devices on UK time.
Device registers UK time at work.
This is only a recent problem (August 2025) previously been 4 years with work, no problem
Baffling, no-one else at work has this probelm
Personal PC is being checked at work, loan device does the same Madrid time jump

Frustrating as diaries are occasionally affected

Re: Time Zones

The implication sounds like it is the Wholehome disks causing the problem.

I’m not familiar with the Wholehome disks, but is there a management page associated with them that has a region setting perhaps?  Seems a strange one.

Edit: As an afterthought, that works laptop doesn't use a VPN to connect, does it?

Re: Time Zones

It has a vpn, which doesn’t come on until about 3/5 minutes after connecting.

Hi @lakesvet.

Thanks for coming to the community.

You can manage the discs through the BT Whole Home Wi‑Fi app.

If you don’t already have the app, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play. It should pick up your discs automatically.
Once in the app, you can check in the settings the region is set to UK.

Re: Time Zones

Thanks Debbie, I've not found anything in the app that can help - such as checking any internal time signal in its software.

Thanks for getting back to us @lakesvet.

Are you able to test this using a BT router? If not, I'd recommend getting in touch with your IT team so they can take a closer look.

Re: Time Zones

This is in hand. The router is one that our fibre supplier provided.

is there a vpn or some sort of time signal in the mini discs. I assume so as the time changes before i log my laptop onto the network

Re: Time Zones

This is weird!

The time disparity is now happening with the Zyxel router and I've checked it, it's time is set correctly!

It's probably a Windows 11 glitch!
