Tp link deco help needed please

Go to solution

Hey everyone so I have ffbb 900mbps and just purchased the deco x60 to keep the gamers in the house quiet lol. Little did I know that the bt hub would need to be put into bridge mode and that it wasn't possible for me to do it. What can I do to limit the double natting as the gamers are not happy their connection keeps flipping. Is there a modem anyone recommends? I am waiting for the WiFi 6 to come out as my contract needs renewed. Also if I put my decos into access mode I still have 2 different networks I am so confused lol

You don't need a modem, the ONT is a modem. Just connect the deco directly to the ONT unless you have Digital Voice, in which case you are stuck with using the SH2.

@AllMadHere85

You do not need the Home Hub unless you have BT Digital Voice.

You simply connect the Deco to the Openreach Fibre Modem (ONT).

The Deco would then function in its normal router mode.

If you do need to use the Home Hub, the simply put the Deco in access mode, and turn off the wireless on the home hub.

I don't have any digital voice I don't even have a phone connected. Going to sound completely stupid here but is that the cable that goes straight into my hub that I put into the deco or is it a different one?

The same cable.

Deco configuration PPPoE.

User name would be bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password would be BT.

I am sure there is only a quick start leaflet in the box. I will check soon when I have peace from the kids. I put the wire in but the deco goes red and I followed instructions on Google and I don't seem to be able to go into any tp link admin page at all
