UPS for ONT and Smart Hub 3

Hi.

As we didn't have full fibre I bought the Cyberpower non-FTTP UPS for backup.
We are just about to have full fibre installed and I need to get UPS for the ONT.

My questions are:

1.  As I already have a Cyberpower non-FTTP UPS can I buy a second one to supply the ONT, or do I need to buy a Cyberpower FTTP UPS? [If I can get one from somewhere!]

2.  Is there a better alternative?

Thanks

Steve.

Re: UPS for ONT and Smart Hub 3

It would help if you supplied the model number of the Cyberpower UPS.  It's a bit difficult for people to suggest something better when they don't really know what you have at the moment.

The model I have is MPN:091297.
It’s the non-FTTP version.

Re: UPS for ONT and Smart Hub 3

Well, at a quick look I’ve failed to find any useful reference as to the number and type of connector on the back of that thing, so who knows if it will power both the ONT and the router?

You could, of course, buy the FTTP version off BT, but you can also get UPS units off, say, Amazon that come with mains 3-pin sockets on them.  If you got one of those it would just be a simple matter of plugging both the ONT and the router into sockets on the one UPS.  It would also be compatible with any future change of equipment, of course.

I’m sure someone will come up with a better suggestion, now I’ve started the ball rolling, so let’s wait and see.
