Unable to connect 2010 iMac to Smart Hub 3 WiFi

Hello

I recently got full fibre broadband installed for my Dad and is working okay, but I am unable to get his old 2010 iMac to connect to WiFi.

It is an iMac 3.06GHz Intel Core i3, running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I’ve seen one suggestion elsewhere to separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels and use the 2.4GHz for the iMac. However, that doesn’t appear to be an option on the Smart Hub 3.

The only other thing I can think to try is to use his old BT router that he used for his old broadband connection as an access point just for the iMac.

Does anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

Matt

If it's a new Smart Hub 3, I suspect you'll find it is WPA3 that it can't cope with.  Try the compatibility modes.
