Hi, I was wondering if I could get any help from anybody. I pay for 300mbps download speed with a 150mbps guarentee but on any device upstairs, I am unable to get above 3Mpbs!
hat I am confused about is that when I used the text help service, which refreshed my hub, the speed suddenly went up to 150mbps and everything was working fine. Unfortunately, a few days later, the speed dropped again to under 5Mpbs. It seems impossible to actually talk to anybody from BT about this issue so I was wondering if somebody could give me any idea of how to keep a high internet speed upstairs. Thanks

Providers only guarantee speeds on wired devices because WiFi has too many variables that are outside of the providers control , it’s not really your provider’s problem if the are supplying the appropriate speed at the router .
If your WiFi ‘signal’ upstairs is poor upstairs, you could try repositioning your router , or look into WiFi hotspots (BT can supply’whole home WiFi’ ) or buy something similar to relay the WiFi signal upstairs and hopefully make WiFi more usable, TBH it’s difficult to see how a reset would improve this even briefly.
By far the most transformative thing to do would be use wired devices so connecting to the hub with Ethernet but obviously this may not be practical for devices like phones or tablets intended to be portable.
Thank you for the reply. To be honest, I was ready to buy a mesh set or adaptor of some sort but the reset via BT giving me good speeds made me wonder if I was wasting my money. I can't understand why it was so good for a few days then faded again.
Thanks again for the reply. Connecting to the hub with Ethernet isn't practical in this scenario, so I'll get on the lookout for a booster of some sort
