Whole Home Disc being Weird

Hi all,

been having all sorts of fun and games with my Wi-Fi recently. Latency spikes all over the place when gaming, so in an effort to try to diagnose things, I've been digging about in the Smart Hub 2 manger via browser as well as using the phone app.  Initially I was hoping to force my gaming rig, which is quite far from the hub itself downstairs, to connect to the whole home disc which is in the same room as it. I realise that the mesh system is designed to ignore things like closeness in favour of signal strength, which is fine, but I'm at a bit of a loss to explain this image:

Now, the grey text - Kitchen, Rays Room - refers to the name of two of the discs and it shows that Rays Room is connected to Kitchen (bit of a shame as the router itself is considerably closer to Rays room than the kitchen is, but the really odd (to me) things is that the BT Disc at the top of the list has the grey legend NA and looking at its details on the next page it seems to think that it has a wired connection. This presumably explains the icon too. The thing is, this disc is farthest away from the other discs, closer to the hub 2 itself, but is absolutely not wired. The phone app seems to understand this but not the browser app. What could be going on I wonder and could this mystery be contributing to my fluctuating lag spikes in any way?

Re: Whole Home Disc being Weird

Hi @blackartz

I'm really not sure why it's showing as a wired connection, if it isn't or whether that's contributing to the ping spikes.

We do have some brilliant, knowledgeable users here in the community who may be along to help. Otherwise, I'd recommend speaking with our technical support team, so they can check everything from our side and book an engineer, if needed.

Keep us posted.

Its because the BT hub network map is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike and bears little or no resemblance to reality.
