This is a security issue - but I couldn't find a "board" to post it on, so perhaps someone here can redirect me?
I first noticed that my "location information" is showing as NOT in the UK - which prevents my using that site. (I've been with BT for years, and have not knowingly changed it. ) I check my ISP and find it is showing as UK-2 Ltd, which I Googled to find there was a high probability of fraud. I have to assume that someone/something has changed my ISP, - but how? Why? Who/what could do this, and what for? How do I find out what's happened to my system?
I can't get anywhere with phoning BT, as I don't have a smart phone, and they keep sending me links which I can't click on.
Can anybody help, please? Thank you!

Just to clarify, are you a residential or a business customer?
Residential.
Where are you seeing this information?
If it is one of the internet utilities that tell you your location, such as "What's my IP address?", it is probably just out of date information as it hasn't caught up with a recent address update yet.
(Mine does that quite frequently, although it's unusual for it to show a different country).
I was literally just about to suggest googling What’s my ip.
I doubt it’ll show an out of date IP address, I’ve just checked my own and although I’m on PN, it still shows BT as my ISP.
Oh, it frequently takes 24 hours to catch up.
I've just checked with Companies House and UK-2 Ltd is a UK registered company dealing in IT services. Been registered 27 years. The company senior personnel all seem to have British names.
@Shooftie I suspect you've probably had an IP address change that's using one of their old addresses. I'm sure it will update, eventually.
First found it when I tried to log in (this morning) to a website I go to every week and it told me I couldn't log in, since my ISP showed that I was not in the UK. (I AM and always have been.)
I checked what ISP was showing, and it said "UK-2 Ltd".
I tried to ask BT what to do to put this right, but can't get a useable reply - as I'm not using a smart phone and cannot therefore click a link. I was hoping that someone here could suggest a solution?
(I've been with BT for years, have never changed my ISP etc)
Many thanks for ay help??!!
Reset your hub and see what happens?
Thank you - but why would I have an IP address change? As I say, I've been with BT for years, and have never heard of UK-2 Ltd before.
Thank you - I'll try that now.
