Wi-Fi not connecting to TV

Go to solution

Hello all,

we recently changed from virgin to BT. I tried connecting my Samsung TV with WiFi but connection fails everytime. It was working perfectly couple of days ago when it was connected with virgin media router but I can’t seem to connect it with BT router.

wifi is working perfectly with all the phones in the house but doesn’t connect with TV.

does anyone know how to resolve this?

many thanks for help

did you delete virgin wifi from TV before trying to connect the BT hub?  Does the TV 'see' the BT hub SSID but after entering wifi password TV does not connect?  Try going into hub manager then turn of the hub 5ghz wifi  and see if TV will connect to the 2.4ghz wifi.  if connects then go back into hub and re-enable the 5ghz wifi

did you delete virgin wifi from TV before trying to connect the BT hub? no I didn’t. How do I do that?

Does the TV 'see' the BT hub SSID but after entering wifi password TV does not connect? yes, it does see the WiFi name and when I enter password, it doesn’t connect.

Try going into hub manager then turn of the hub 5ghz wifi  and see if TV will connect to the 2.4ghz wifi.  if connects then go back into hub and re-enable the 5ghz wifi: what is a hub manager? I am only a tennant in property and my landlord got the account, is this something they need to do?

If the TV can see the WiFi name, turning off the 2.4Ghz won't help.

Did you fully factory reset the TV or just power cycle it?

If everything else works ok the problem is clearly with the TV

I fully factory rest the tv.

it was working perfectly with previous WiFi two days ago.

I don’t know what the issue is. Everything else gets connected instantly but I have only tried connecting via bar code.

What barcode? Enter the password manually, the QR code is the hub manager password not the wifi password.

I used bar code to connect to my phone.

I’ve been entering password manually on tv but it doesn’t connect.
