I'm struggling with my Wi-Fi network. Mostly, it seems fine over 5GHz but very problematic over 2.4 GHz. Support tells me it's interference, but I'm not convinced.
While trying to get a grasp of things, I've restarted my router and am now having issues with my BT Wi-Fi discs. They seem to disconnect from time to time. (They show as greyed out in the hub manager, and the blue light on the disc itself flashes).
However, the discs that are still connected (I have three discs in total) are shown as connecting to 5GHz. I've also seen them connected to 2.4 GHz as well as to another Wi-Fi Disc.
This made me realise that I don't really understand how they work. So, I thought I'd ask here. Support didn't seem to know when I asked today.
I can see several Arccadyan hidden networks (2.4 & 5 GHz) with my network analyser app. I assume these are related to my network since it's the same Vendor as is attributed to my known network equipment. I'm guessing that there is a kind of "backbone" to the network via these hidden networks (that won't let other devices join) and that each network base station device then transmits visible networks which your ordinary device can see and join. However, I don't really know. Regardless, based on my guess, I think I should then see these network base stations connecting via both 2.4 & 5 GHz in the hub manager, but I don't. And if I can't, how do I know whether they have connected to both (2.4 & 5 GHz) "backbone" networks or just one?
