Wiring telephone line straight into rj45 or so I need a master socket in between?

hey community, I'm currently doing a rewire of a property and my client has a very old telephone connection. The signal comes in on the white and orange wire. The other 5wires red, red, red, green and black weren't connected.

My question is can I wire this straight into a rj45 socket, or do I need to go through a master socket first. And if I can connect it straight to a rj45 socket which pins do I need, I thought it was pin 3 and 6 as these are recievers but the Internet is not working.

Thanks alot.

You need to wire it into an RJ11 socket, not an RJ45 one. RJ45 sockets are for ethernet connections, not telphones.

Thanks for the reply, the client doesn't need telephone anymore, just ethernet! Why I thought I could do it directly?

A phone/broadband line isn't Ethernet.
