BT Sports on LG TVs

I purchased a new LG 4K TV recently and was really looking forward to watching BT Sport (Ultimate). However, it appears that the BT Sports app is not available on my LG device 😟

I contacted LG support and they came back with "...the BT Software and Firmware Engineers are the ones who will decide if they will launch their application on our LG TV's or on some specific LG TV models...".

Anyone know if and when the app might be available on LG smart TVs?

There will never be a BT Sport app for LG TVs. There may be a TNT Sports app for it when they take over later this year, but we don't currently know.
If you want to watch BT Sport in the meantime, I'm afraid you'll need to connect an external device.

Pity. I currently view through XBox but only in HD. Looks like cheapest way to watch in 4k is to buy a Roku 4K Express stick.

You can't watch BT TV on LG TVs, but you can watch TNT Sports via the discovery+ app with a suitable TNT Sports subscription. 🙂
