Discoveryplus confirmed as active but not champions league access

I have an active btsport sub and an active discoveryplus account with the same email address 

When I log into discoveryplus I see option to 'watch now' but when I click this it asks me to pay £29.99 (in addition to the £20 I already pay BT).

This seems wrong.

What am I misunderstanding? 

I just wanna watch the football without paying twice.

I've cancelled your existing discovery+ activation (from August 3rd).
You can activate again at www.bt.com/sport/activate-discovery-plus

When it takes you to the discovery+ site, be sure to use the “Sign in” link in the top right corner to pair with your existing discovery+ login.

I am having a similar problem. Activated on Discovery+, live BT Sports/TNT subscription but when I try to watch it gives me a message to contact my content provider.
