IOS sleep on iMAC hangs BT Sport

I'm watching BT Sport on iMAC.  The stream hangs whenever IOS sleep tries to kick in and I have to reload it.  It never used to do this. Obvious sloppy work around is to change sleep preferences, but I shouldn't need to do this.
