Sports App

Go to solution

When watching live rugby via the BT sports app(on a Samsung A53) I get a error code of VC018. Switched to watch the live football and it works fine.  I have tried all the usual uninstall the app and then reloaded it  etc. I also have a pixel 6a and the app works fine!  Any ideas!!

Re: Sports App

VC018 means your hardware told the app it was capable of playing the video, but when it then tried, the hardware said no. Rebooting can often fix this, but if not then select the More tab, then Player Settings, and turn off hardware acceleration. This will fix it.
I have an update going out soon that will do this automatically.

Thanks for the reply but this didn't work, still getting VC018 message.  Have noticed it only happens on BT sport 1!

Could I get you to check again please, just to make sure sure that the "Disable hardware acceleration" toggle is set to the on (right) position. It shouldn't be possible for VC018 to ever happen with that set.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue.

Samsung Galaxy A53. If I try and watch BT Sport Ultimate I get the same error message.

I tried as you suggested above and that didn't work.

Can you please join the beta by finding the BT Sport app in the Play Store. Scroll down the screen with the details and there'll be an option to join the beta.

Shortly after joining, an update will become available - app version 8.17.0.

Let me know how you get on.

Re: Sports App

Hello,

I've become a beta tester, the update came through and I'm on the version of App you've quoted above.

I've gone on to watch BT Sport 1 now, for Real Madrid vs Liverpool, soon into live stream it tells me that this broadcast is available on BT Sport Ultimate.

Then I get the VC018 error again.

I hope this info helps

Matt

Ok thanks. If you try a second time, does it still show VC018?
If so, I'm afraid the only option I'll have remaining is to blacklist that device to prevent it even offering Ultimate.
