TNT Sports Ultimate 4k on Discovery app

Can someone confirm whether I can watch live content from TNT Sports Ultimate HDR using the Discovery Plus app?

Attempted to watch the Community Shield football match on Sunday but got an error message. Contacted Discovery support who have told me this is not possible. This contradicts the info given in the above link FAQ.

Can't speak for others but it was certainly there on my tv on Sunday. Watched it .

That's good to know. Here's the full story. Using an Apple tv box here.

On Sunday I went to watch it but got an error message pop up which said:

"SOMETHING WENT WRONG. CANNOT OPEN. AVFOUNDATIONERRORDOMAIN 11868.

I uninstalled the app. Disconnected tv and box from wall socket for 20 min. Plugged them back, switched on, and reinstalled the Discovery Plus app. It then played ok. I  had to pop out but when I came back I got the same error message.

Then contacted Discovery support and they have responded by saying "I would like to inform you that 4K UHD is for select shows and movies (not including live content) on devices that support 4K UHD on discovery+."

Just trying to find out what's going on here.

That's a really stupid response from the alleged support team given all of TNT's prem and home UCL games are in UHD.

It's probably your apple box so why not invest in a roku or firestick as a back up.

I might not have to bother with a stick. I've just downloaded the Discovery app on the tv so will give that a try tomorrow night when there is another live game. Also, there's the Discovery app on the BT box which I haven't tried yet. I would just like to find the culprit at the moment - Apple box or Discovery app? The weird thing is, using the Apple box, the UHD stream is available on the Discovery Football home page. But, if it isn't available/option, then why put it up there?

Discovery have now sent me a link. So what constitutes "Select events"??

I had the same issue on my Apple TV 4k box (the version supplied by EE, but I don't think that makes any difference). I could watch elsewhere including the app on my Sky box, so it will be a Discovery on Apple issue. We will see if it is the same tonight, as the Spurs game is on TNT Sport Ultimate.

I've noticed that there has been no replay of Sunday in UHD when I've looked, but that is probably coincidence.

At least the error message was in HDR.

@Richr1 Yes the absence of the UHD coverage  on demand  on discovery+ of the Community Shield is disappointing.  I have as a viewer raised with discoveryplus  support  and  they (support) indicate that they are asking teir programming team for  more information. 

This match was the first of the new contract between the FA and TNT Sports  so I hope that the problems are early teething problems.

Because it wasn't there for a minority doesn't mean it as AWOL. 

I can reassure you the community shield was broadcast in UHD.

I will have a look tonight but I'm not hopeful to be honest. I have three Discovery app ways to view; Apple box, LG tv and BT mini box. Trying to get rid of mini box due to cost - hence the Apple tv box - but do not want to loose UHD.

I'm at a crossroads at the moment as my BT contract is just ending and I would like more than just one UHD channel. I have a NOW membership and I was hopeful that there would be more UHD available (ultra boost) but looking at the other thread it seems the waiting goes on and on. I don't want to take out a Sky contract but if it's the only way then so be it. There seems to so much faffing with BT/Discovery. Just provide people with a service instead of making subscribers go around the houses.
