Hi all! Recieved my BT price increase email yesterday, which of course I expected, my broadband package increasing quite a bit ( again, as expected), but what I was not sure about was under the heading, TV and Sport, it states a increase of £2.30 for sport. I subscribe for BT Sport @ 17.00 monthly along with my broadband package but was not aware that the subscription based BT Sport was also increasing, thought it was only the monthly pass was going up in price? Possibly I am wrong here but was just wondering if this is all correct? Many Thanks in advance for any advice.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The monthly pass has gone up to £29.99 apparently, but it is not subject to the CPI increase as it is a 30 day contract.
From the price increase page:
CPI, plus 3.9% applies to all BT Sport packages, except for BT Sport Monthly Pass and BT Sport on Sky without BT Broadband, which are not subject to CPI, plus 3.9% increases in 2023
It also says this about BT TV:
CPI, plus 3.9% applies to all TV packages and some TV add-ons.
There’s no CPI, plus 3.9% price change for third party add-ons, including NOW TV, Netflix and Prime Video.
So unless your £17 is for BT Sport on Sky, the message about the increase is correct.
Many thanks for the reply, that seems to explain it then!
