BT sport pro box away from home

Go to solution

Can a BT sport pro box be used away from home ie on another internet connection or is it tied to the BT broadband connection to the house that subscribes?

Thanks

It's tied to your account because it validates the account when connected

It's tied to your BT broadband, it won't work with another ISP.
The app is an option though, if you have a compatible device ? See What devices is the BT Sport App available on?

Oh ok so even if logged in with the correct account details, you have to be on bts network for it to work?

You don't "log in" to the BT TV box - it automatically picks up your subscription from the broadband line.
Some of the apps will still work if connected to a different line, but the channels won't (including BT Sport).

@DarrenDev  I have the BT Big Sport package, and can have up to 6 registered devices, 3 of which can be used concurrently I believe? Or have I missed the point of this discussion?

Thanks for your help as always.

Thanks for the reply, I was checking if the box has to be connected to the home BB or if you can travel with the box and plug in anywhere. The answer is it's tied to the BB connection. I will close off comments now as it's answered.
