That message is normal if you are signing up for a new two contract because BT TV only works with BT Broadband so your broadband contract would need to be aligned with your TV contract.

I suspect you were looking at signing up afresh as opposed to the flex options, did you click the "Swap Your Package" button?

Yes I selected the swap packages and this was the only option I was given

I have 67 days left on my BTTV contract but I can no longer change the package without my broadband being renewed for 24 months either!  Message I'm given is "Taking this package will also renew your broadband contract for 24 months"

Throughout my term I have switched my TV package using the flexible option a few times but that no longer appears to be an option.  Disappointing but to be honest I'll probably just cancel at the end of my contract.
