Can’t cancel Now TV add on

I’ve been through every possible setting and option on My BT and there seems to be no option to cancel the Now TV add on.

It can’t really be this hard? Surely I must be missing something?

If someone can help, I’d appreciate it!

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Can’t cancel Now TV add on

You can cancel the extra passes of you've taken one on a rolling 30 day term, others mean changing the package completely, for example if you have 'Big Sport' then you can't remove the Sky Sports element, you'd have to change to another package like just 'BT Sports'

What package do you have and what part are you looking to remove ?

Absolutely. Shameful tactics. Lacking ethics.

If you want to manage something it’s pretty simple. Keep it or cancel. This option seems unavailable. Shabby cheapskate low wrong and probably illegal.

Come on BT Play fair.

Where is the unsubscribe button ? Or is it that you have a direct debit tap in to our bank accounts and are determined to use it.?  Wrong wrong wrong. Dishonest, sharp practice

Did you read my previous reply? you can stop or start any passes monthly, you do have to have at least 1 subscription from either NowTV or TNT Sports, this is the terms you agreed to when you took the service out, BT provide you with brand new equipment to watch on, this is why there is a minimum term, your NowTV content through BT is also recordable.

Re: No option to Cancel NOW Boost

You didn’t read my post.

it really is quite simple. You take advantage of a “free trial” .. oh yes it is free but you can’t cancel it using the ap and BT have your direct debit on a recurring payment.

It’s a honey trap. I ended up phoning, which took considerable time and multiple menus, regulatory BS and finally after about 20 minutes got to speak to someone. They had to then pass me to someone else. It is a deliberate, considered method, hoping you’ll give up and the elevated subscription will be be paid. The guide I spoke actually said he recommends phoning if there is a problem which confirms the ap is either badly constructed or constructed to confuse when it comes to purchasing and cancelling individual aspelts of the contract

As to the “brand new equipment” please don’t make me laugh. ISP’s churn it out daily in return for lengthy contracts and a guaranteed income stream. Don’t get me wrong, BT have been pretty good and an order of magnitude better than Sky but please don’t defend the flim flam with weak arguments.

If this sort of add on was ethically provided you should quite simply be able to go to manage my products and press cancel. .. it isn’t very difficult to be up front and honest.

Having recently moved house and having had to contact something like 30+ institutions to change details .. it is my experience that, without exceptio,  it is telecoms companies that are THE most difficult to communicate with. Layer upon layer of avoiding 2 way contact with customers. FAQ’s and AI (that isn’t intelligent) forums, communities, apps.

Thankfully, this incident aside my BT is working well but truthfully the industry needs to take a good hard look at itself and reflect on both its general customer services and more particularly its underlying ethics.
