If you change Flexible TV Package do you lose your current discount?

Go to solution

If you change Flexible TV Package do you lose your current discount?

i.e. "Sport" is currently £10 a month for 12 months (£8 discount), then £18 a month

If after 1 month you then switch to Big Sport at £43 a month (no current offers) do you lose your £8 monthly discount for the remaining 11 months.

If yes then it doesn't seem like much of an incentive to upgrade. Does it make any difference if you are upgrading or downgrading?

Thanks.

Yes, you pay the current price for the new package.

You could of course just add a monthly NOW Sports pass when needed at £34.99 to your base Sport pack at £10 instead of flexing to Big Sport.

Thanks. Not that it makes sense - no wonder revenues are down!

Apart from the early days when they first started carrying NOW content, I don’t think I have seen any discounts on Big Sport or VIP.

I think the way they view it is the value is in being able to switch around or add on extras for short periods, rather than being stuck on one set of content for 2 years.

Drop sports during the Summer, get VIP in the winter, that sort of thing.

I suspect they may of course run more promotions as the move towards EE TV and the launch of TNT sports arrives, which will probably require you to re-contract, but you might see something you like.

Yeah... but if there's a running discount for the first 12 months there's no incentive to change! If you're upgrading to a more expensive package, I feel the discount should be retained. They really haven't thought this through! Guess I'll go elsewhere!
