Re: SHORT RECORDINGS. “STILL"

Go to solution
Very odd. I rang 150 got through to Broadband people. They told me to factory reset etc , I told them I’d done all those things. So I was offered a new box, they didn’t specify what it was, but yes it’s different shape to the old one and branded EE and works properly.
I mentioned this forum, the lady I spoke to doesn’t think anybody from BT reads it.

Thanks again John. You’d think BT would use this as a valuable resource!!.
I’ll try ringing but hate “talking” with AI.

Re: SHORT RECORDINGS. “STILL"

UPDATE:
Having spoken with several more “people” including one (Amber) that knew what they were doing! I’ve been sent a pair of network extenders to get “cable” to my set top box rather than ethernet.  They are now installed and I have my fingers crossed, two recording set, but will their full length (if achieved) prove anything??

Re: SHORT RECORDINGS. “STILL"

HOPEFULLY WE”VE PUT THIS TO BED!

I looks as though it wasn’t the set top box after all!!  With the aid of a network extender (via the mains!) I’m now sort of hard wired, rather than ether..  everything “seems" to be working fine now.  I’ve made several recordings I didn’t want, and they all went full length.

What a pity BT don’t have their on-line specialists monitor these pages, such a lot to learn and it’s all going to waste.

Merry Christmas everyone.   Cheers John..

Re: SHORT RECORDINGS. “STILL"

I find it strange that this is marked as resolved, the issue is still apparent and live, I've had a EE TV engineer out and he has seen the issue and EE TV does not have a solution YET.

Example series link recording and missing the last 3 to 5 seconds of the recording, the recording starts on the credits of the previous scheduled program, then 3 minutes of Adverts, then the program which is recorded starts, length of recording 59 minutes and 54 seconds, program scheduled length 1hour, totally lost recording 4 seconds and an important punch line, time wasted waiting for program to be uploaded on tv catch up 2 days.

I am not scheduling the next program to record, after my series linked program as this changes.

BOX used EE TV Pro Box brand new

Connection Aerial

I am not going back to streaming, as you can only record 2 channels and watch 1, with an Aerial you can record 6 and watch 1

Re: SHORT RECORDINGS. “STILL"

I think I/We are wasting our time, I’ve always experienced short recordings, for a while I didn’t notice any problems but recently, and as of yesterday still do, a recording  lasted about 10/12 minutes then failed, very exasperating, but nobody from BT, (presumably now EE!) have made any workable suggestions, and I’ve changed set top boxes.

I’m also stuck currently with no account access as BT is off and EE just shows my existing phone account…..

Why does nothing work as it should these days?  Very exasperated ex BT lifetime employee.

I’ll try 150 and see if they will send an EE box??  I’m being told,, Up to 45 mins wait!!   What the….

I'm a novice and struggling as well.  It's just started recently....the last few minutes,  not always,  but enough to annoy my wife.  As I understand it, nothing to be done ?
