We have bt master socket under stairs in cupboard beside a gas meter and boiler.
when gas man came in he suggested that master socket should be moved as it’s not safe.
we get noise on line now and then and broadband can be affected.
we are a disabled household
does bt move master socket for disabled people free of charge, or should we wait for the digital voice switch over.
bt phone line service
sky broadband
Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.
The master socket would belong to Openreach, not BT Retail.
If you want it moved, then you will have to arrange this through Sky, however its not likely to be a hazard, or cause issues with your broadband.
Try posting on the Sky User Forum for advice, as this forum would not be able to help.
If you ever get moved to digital voice then you must use BT SH2 which does not work with sky so you would either need to move to BT for broadband or move phone service to sky
