I am suddenly getting emails bouncing back undelivered today, with the subject "Delivery Status Notification"
and the following text:
These recipients of your message have been processed by the mail server:
EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED; Failed; 5.3.0 (other or undefined mail system status)
Remote MTA eu-smtp-inbound-1.mimecast.com: network error
- SMTP protocol diagnostic: 554 Email rejected due to security policies - https://community.mimecast.com/docs/DOC-1369#554 [zBe33TdDOVWPuIl2jHlIBA.uk204]
Any ideas why this may suddenly be happening? The emails are from my Solicitor, who I have been conversing fine with for the past 8 weeks.
The problem would appear to be with your solicitor's email service.
I would suggest that you call the solicitor's office and ask them if they are having problems with their email service and explain to them what is happening.
It may be that they are aware of a problem or if they report everything is OK it may be there is something in your email that is causing the rejection so you should try sending a new email without anything within it except a simple one line message with no attachments to see if that gets through.
If it is also bounced it would confirm that the problem is with the solicitor's email service and it is blocking your email for some reason. This would require further investigation by the solicitor's email service provider.
