Why are BT not doing anything about this.
Has it been officially raised as a fault?
Hi everyone,
This has been fed back to our email support team.
Once we have more information we will let you all know.
Leanne.
I have had this problem of late, and when I spoke with someone, I was advised the same, that due to the large numbers of emails (>100K) is the reason. but Iit was working till recently, so I guuess it isnt to do with the numbers of emails.
I totally agree.
And it would appear BT are doing nothing about it, given the length of time this has been a problem.
Very frustrating.
To save repeating myself please have a read of messages 11 and 13 which while they are not in relation to the search problem you are having it may be of interest.
Morning everyone,
Our email team have completed investigations and have increased the search function for email folders and the email inbox from 200k to 450k.
This will help timeout issues when searching. If you have more than 450k email in your inbox and the folder you're searching, you will need to move emails to different folders, or delete/unsubscribe from emails you don't need to make sure the email platform has no timing or performance issues.
Leanne.
Thank you for this update @Leanne_T - For me this has solved the problem.
One of my folders has 205k messages (10 years worth) and search results are now displaying successfully after 14 seconds.
I shall continue to split my messages into a few smaller archive folders to prevent this from being a problem in future, but it's a jerky and time consuming process in the webmail UI.
Knowing the new threshold of 450k is really key. Thank you.
Best regards,
Simon
Glad we could help and the changes have solved your problem @SiGod
Thanks for letting me know.
