Re: Please help me

Please don't feel like that as we're only trying to help, often based on our own experiences. Have you read my earlier post?

Re: Please help me

Try contacting these:

https://www.bt.com/bt-plc/assets/documents/about-bt/policy-and-regulation/our-governance-and-strateg...

They are more senior than the usual phone help desk and should be able to sort this once and for all.

Re: Please help me

It's a shame we're only on Monday as, when I had reason to call Customer Services a few weeks ago, I called on a Sunday morning and virtually got straight through. Maybe a few minutes wait at most, but if felt as though it was pretty much straight through anyway.

But it would be good if you could get them to hold fire for now but maybe contact you again in the New Year to re-arrange an appointment. Like I say, it is worth it if there are no extra charges involved, either for the installation or any changes to your monthly bill. In fact, my monthly bill has actually gone down as I was able to renew my phone plan at a lower price. But that won't be relevant here if you no longer have your landline anyway.

Re: Please help me

WSH
I got thru to them with your link and spent 48 mins on the phone, he had to keep refering to his manager so took ages. He tells me I've only got to Jan to convert to fibre otherwise my broadband will cease to work. He also said when i convert to fibre id need to agree a new contract . Left it that I'd contact them when we're ready.
Thanks for your help

Re: Please help me

@cityangel

Just to reassure you, the new contract just means that you'll be starting a new 24 month term.  But hopefully at no extra cost if my recent experience is anything to go by.

Re: Please help me

I think you were misinformed when you contacted BT.

If it is BT and Openreach that are initiating the switch over to FTTP you should not have to start a new Fixed Term Contract other than your present contract will be new in respect to what terminology it uses ie you will be on a FTTP contract instead of a FTTC contract but the Fixed Term end date should be the same as you have at the moment and the price you pay should be the same.

It will only become a "new" Fixed Term Contract if you change to a faster broadband package or change / stop some other part of your present package in which case you will start a new Fixed Term Contract.

Re: Please help me

They keep putting off the migration orders. If the op wants to do it proactively in their own time then would have to be a new contract on probably a better deal anyway
