Have you considered getting a high gain USB wireless adapter, and connecting that to your laptop? You can locate the adapter so its near the strongest BT Wifi position, using a longer USB cable.

I assume you are a BT Broadband customer working away from home, and using a nearby hotspot.

Thanks for the reply. Good advice I'll look into it, though it'd have to be a long USB cable in one venue .
